Our very own charming  Zain Imam popular as Neil has confirmed that Naamkarann is going off air and wouldn’t have any slot change. But loyal fans of the actor will not have to wait too long as we have some good news too!!
After Naamkarann he would again be seen on new Star Plus show. According to a source, Zain will be seen in Star Plus’ upcoming show Mariam Khan – Reporting Live. He will play the love interest of one of Mariam’s older sisters on the show.
Actor Zain Imam added he will take a short break after Naamkarann wraps up but will soon start shooting for this new show. Zain will soon be shooting the last episode of Naamkarann, which premiered in 2016 on Star Plus. Its final episode will be aired on May 18.
When asked about the new project Zain said “I have some time on hand so, I will be taking a small vacation after Naamkarann wraps up. I will be back in time to begin shooting for a show. I am looking forward to the journey,”.
When asked about the reason for ending the show Zain gave a statement that “I’m not sure about the exact reason but we, too, have been hearing that a lot of shows will be axed. The channel is planning to revamp. Since we are not leading the slot, they’ve decided to take the show off air. However, I’m happy that the audience liked the show and the feedback, especially for my character, has been encouraging. Besides, I also feel that it’s better to end a show when its still doing well. I want to thank my fans for their immense support and love.”
Naamkaran, conceptualised by noted filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt went on air in 2016. The show initially revolved around 10-year-old Avni who’s an illegitimate child of filmmaker Ashish Mehta and Ayesha Haider. The relationship is kept under wraps because of Ashish’s mother Dayawanti who doesn’t approve of a Muslim woman in her son’s life.
